Sprint: Open Enrollment for TEP in March
Sprint customers can enroll in the Total Equipment Protection plan this month no matter how long you have had your phone. Normally you must enroll in the first 30 days of having the phone, but for the month of March Sprint is ignoring that pre-requisite.
The cost for those unfamiliar with the program is an additional $7 per month but can save you some big bucks in the event of an accident. Sprint pushes the TEP plan on their site by stating that 1 in 3 phones will be damaged within the first year. Our Pres have seemed to fair rather well since our purchases in June and July but knowing that others have not been so lucky this may be a great time to join.
Here are some of the bullet points concerning the plan:
- TEP provides coverage for anything that could happen to your phone other than intentional damage.
- Many device issues can be resolved the same day at Sprint-authorized service locations. In some cases device issues can be serviced or repaired in about 1 hour. TEP can save you $99 or more for these in-store service or repair transactions.
- If your device is lost, stolen, or exhibits liquid or physical damage, approved replacements will typically arrive in 1 business day when submitted by 7:30 p.m. Central Time.
- And at only $7, the monthly fee is less expensive than the cost of an average lunch.
- TEP could potentially save you from paying $300, $400, $500 or more to replace your handset.
